About Saraland

Electrical Work in Saraland: What We See and How We Work

Saraland sits just north of Mobile where I-65 and Highway 43 run side by side, about fifteen minutes from our shop. It has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the county for a decade, which means a mix of 1970s brick homes and brand-new construction on the same street.

New subdivisions bring builder-grade equipment that reaches the end of its life all at once, and the older neighborhoods off Shelton Beach Road carry the panels and ductwork of their era. We see both every week.

Saraland is one of the places our trucks are in most, and it has been for years. We have been out to Saraland 59 times since January, and most of the time we were there the same day someone asked.

Free estimates on replacements and installations. Repair price in writing before any work begins.

Older Panels, New Loads and the Homes of Saraland

The housing in Saraland runs to established neighborhoods off Saraland Boulevard and Highway 43 alongside the newer subdivisions that have gone up along Celeste Road and toward I-65. On the older houses we see the same list on every street: 100-amp panels and fuse boxes, hazard-brand breaker panels that insurers now flag, aluminum branch wiring from the early 1970s and outlets without ground or GFCI protection.

On the newer houses the panel is fine but the loads have changed: a heat pump, an electric range, a hot tub, an EV charger and a shop in the back all arrived after the house was wired. Adding capacity safely is permitted work, and we pull the permit and meet the inspector. Saraland is one of the places our trucks are in most. Many of the technicians live on this side of the county.

Older panels and overloaded circuits usually give a warning first: a buzz, a burning smell, or a breaker that will not stay on. A Saraland homeowner came home late one afternoon to a house with no power. He called us after hours, and an electrician was at the house about fifteen minutes later. A bad breaker was the problem, and by his count the whole thing, from noticing the outage to the lights coming back on, took about half an hour. His review afterward: “From the time I saw I had no power til the time I had power back on was around 30 min. Amazing.”

How It Works

Tell us what is going on. During business hours a person answers, and we tell you when the nearest technician can be there; after hours a live answering service picks up and puts you through to the technician on duty.

2

Diagnosis on site

The problem is traced to its source and explained in plain English, along with the price to fix it, in writing, before any work starts. The visit starts with a flat diagnostic fee that covers the first hour; after hours the emergency fee covers the first two.

3

Fix, install, inspect

Repairs usually finish the same visit. Replacements and upgrades are scheduled, permitted where required, and inspected.

What Saraland Homeowners Say

★★★★★

"Came home late afternoon to find my power off. I called after hours and Robby was over in 15 min. It was a bad circuit breaker. From the time I saw I had no power til the time I had power back on was around 30 min. Amazing. Super nice guys as well."

— Deanna N., Google review
★★★★★

"I heard crackling noises behind my washer/dryer. I called Professional Systems on a Sunday, spoke to a live human, and they came out the next morning, right on time. They found the dryer receptacle was a 15 amp receptacle on a 20 amp circuit with loose connections, changed it and made the proper connections as I have aluminum wiring."

Questions & Answers

Electrical Service in Saraland: Questions We Hear

Do you serve Saraland, AL?

Yes. Saraland is one of the places our trucks are in most, and it has been for years. Our shop is in Mobile, about 15 minutes away, and a visit to Saraland costs the same as anywhere else we work.

How fast can you get to Saraland?

This year about a third of electrical repairs began the same day the homeowner or business reached us, and most within two days; the rest were bigger jobs waiting on parts and permits. Same-day on most weekdays in season for electrical repairs, with after-hours and weekend service when it cannot wait. Tell us what is happening when you call and we will tell you when the nearest electrician can be there.

Do you pull permits for electrical work in Saraland?

Yes. Panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits and generator installations are permitted and inspected where the jurisdiction requires it, and we handle the permit and meet the inspector.

Do you install whole-house generators?

Yes. We are a certified Generac dealer and install, service and repair standby generators across the Gulf Coast. Every generator estimate includes an electrical safety check of the panel it will feed.

My breaker trips when the air conditioner starts. Which trade do I call?

Us, either way. We hold both licenses, so one visit checks the AC's electrical side and the panel and you get one answer instead of two contractors blaming each other.

What does it cost to have someone come out in Saraland?

On a weekday, a technician's visit is a flat $175 diagnostic fee that covers the first hour at your home or business; parts and anything beyond that are priced in writing before we do them. Nights, weekends and holidays, the emergency fee is $360 and covers the first two hours of work; if the job will take longer, the technician gives you the price before going further. You hear the fee on the phone before anyone heads your way. Estimates for new systems, installations and generators are free and in writing; a repair visit is the diagnostic fee plus only the work you approve.

Who answers if I call at night?

A real person answers day and night. During business hours it is our office; after hours a live answering service takes your details and puts you through to the technician on duty.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, on most generator installations and major upgrades. The estimate comes first so you apply for the exact amount, and we walk you through the payment before you decide.
